Accessories & parts
Black+ Decker Air Conditioning comes complete with accessories for installation or maintenance. What exactly do you find in your box? This “window kit” contains everything needed for a secure and draft-free installation. To make a good installation a vent is drilled into one of its exterior window areas and you need to seal this area using the adhesive. This allows constant fresh air without adding hot air. Tell me the only thing that hasn’t been included? One item that is NOT included is a rain cover and/or grate cover on fan exhausts. We are amazed that they’ve been absent.

Is Black + Decker worth it?
Overall I liked Black & Decker in all aspects. The product offers good area coverage with an interesting set of capabilities. Remote controls had good performance during our testing. For most customers Black & Decker portable AC makes a good investment. If a particular unit does not open the window it will be disadvantageous. However, this sealing looked secure, and installation was fairly straightforward.
Cool Air
The foam sealing tape is a nice addition since it does help to better insulate the window. If you plan on using this unit for an extended period of time I would encourage you to take the time and do a great install. Cold Air
UPDATE After living with this unit for a couple VERY hot weeks, one season after another, I’ve learned a few things * It’s pretty likely that the built in water tank will fill up, causing the unit to stop producing cold air. I remedied this by keeping the included clear plastic tube attached to the back/bottom and elevating the unit onto a sturdy little platform with the casters removed.
